In the newest video installment of Reel Deal Outdoors TV, my cousin and I fish a favorite local honey hole with some success; but when we reel in what appear to us initially to be big bucket mouths, our expectations are dashed when we go to the scale. It's easy to overestimate the size and weight of a bass in the moment, when adrenaline and excitement are in full effect. It truly is what fish stories are made of. The scale, however, doesn't lie (that is, unless you have a cheap, inaccurate scale). This video should drive the point home; it's important to carry a good, accurate scale lest we spread tall tails.
